Lachie Samuel Mariu · The Self-Leadership Guy

What's actually going on
Every milestone you hit, you never feel as happy as you thought you would.
So you give more time to work. Less to your family. And you keep thinking the next win, the next promotion, the next car will finally do it.
It never does.
Not because you haven't achieved enough. Because there's a pattern running underneath all of it — one that formed before you were old enough to choose it. And until you understand it, nothing you achieve will ever feel like enough.
Who it's for
You're a business owner or leader who's built something real.
From the outside you look like you've got it sorted. Good income. A business that works. The house, the car, the family.
But you can't switch off. You're always chasing the next thing. And when you hit a goal — it fades faster than it should.
You've been waiting to feel worthy until you get there. Pay off the house. Build it bigger. Hit the number.
But that feeling you're chasing was never in those things. You just haven't been shown where it actually is yet.

The pattern running the show
Before you were old enough to question anything, your brain was already learning what was safe and what wasn't.
Those lessons became patterns. And those patterns built your success.
But they're also the reason you can't enjoy it.
This isn't a mindset problem. It's not a discipline problem. It's a pattern problem. And once you see it — you can't unsee it.

From Rock Bottom
to Real Change
I don’t speak on mental health, leadership, or growth because I’ve read the books.
I speak because I’ve lived the kind of hurt most people never talk about.
I’ve faced depression, sexual abuse, addiction—and the consequences of my own behaviour.
I gained 45kg trying to numb the pain after finding out I wasn’t my daughter’s biological dad.
I’ve had strokes, heart problems, and brain bleeds that stole my memory, my speech, and my ability to walk.
There was a time I couldn’t remember my family’s names—and my wife was told I might never speak again.
I’ve had to rebuild from rock bottom—more than once.
So I know what it’s like to feel stuck in your own mind.
To want to make progress and show up for the people you love—but feel like you can’t.
So I know what real change takes.
Not hype.
Not hustle.
But truth. Tools. And showing up—moment by moment.
Today, I speak to leaders and teams because I believe in who they can become.
Not just for performance.
Not just for productivity.
But for themselves, their families, and the people who look to them for strength.
If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably not looking for another motivational speaker.
You want someone real.
Someone who’s walked it.
Someone who can help your people do the same.
That’s what this session delivers.
That’s why I do what I do.

"This isn’t about motivation. I’ve lost 45kg, rebuilt my life, and kept doing the work—because real change shows up under pressure.
Now I help others make that change—before they hit rock bottom."
🔑 Other keynotes
Not every team needs the same message.
While The Circuit Breaker Session™ helps reset stress in real time, these sessions support your people to build clarity, connection, and resilience beyond the moment of pressure.
Mastering the Switch™
Balancing Work and Life
Work-life balance isn’t just about switching off—it’s about knowing how to switch between roles, regulate pressure, and stay present.
In this keynote, Lachie Samuel breaks down the real reason your people are exhausted, checked out, or overwhelmed: their nervous system is stuck in stress mode.
And that stress follows them everywhere—into meetings, conversations, and their homes.
Through lived experience and neuroscience-based tools, Lachie gives your team real strategies to:
✅ Down-regulate stress responses in real time
✅ Set boundaries without guilt or disconnection
✅ Communicate clearly under pressure—at work and at home
✅ Build presence instead of carrying work stress home
This isn’t a soft, surface-level wellness talk.
It’s practical, neuroscience-based insight for people who carry pressure in every part of life—and want to handle it better.

The New Starter Roadmap™
Embedding culture from day one — starting with self leadership
New starters don’t just bring skills.
They bring nervous systems wired by pressure, habits shaped by past workplaces, and stress responses that show up when the pressure is on.
If we don’t teach them how to lead themselves, they won’t know how to contribute to your culture—or how to protect it when things get hard.
The New Starter Roadmap™ is a high-impact keynote (or workshop) that blends lived experience, neuroscience, and culture strategy to help new hires:
✅ Regulate stress and calm their nervous system
✅ Understand and align with your culture, starting with their own values
✅ Show up with self-leadership, resilience, and emotional intelligence
✅ Communicate clearly, hold boundaries, and uphold shared expectations
✅ Build strong habits for focus, behaviour, and contribution—early
This isn’t about soft skills.
It’s about stability, culture, and consistency.
Because when people feel safe and know who they are, they show up better—for the people they work with, lead, and love.
Real change is felt personally—
and seen professionally.
