THE FIFO MENTAL HEALTH SUMMIT
In 2018, Lachie created Australia's first event specifically for mental health within the FIFO and mining industry.
The event initially began as a means to educate decision makers on FIFO mental health, being held in both Perth and Brisbane, and has since morphed into an annual forum where leaders in the space share the insights they've gained from personal experience, as well as the testing of their solutions.
The mission for the FMHS, is to expediate the culture shift within FIFO, by connecting organisations to the people, ideas and solutions they need.

1400 RESOURCES WORKERS CHECK IN ON THEIR MENTAL HEALTH
In 2021 The Association for Mental Health in Mining teamed up with ONE MILLION LIVES to bring you The Resources Industry Mental Health Check-In.
The Mental Health Check-in, held October 11-15, 2021 for mental health week, was aimed at encouraging & empowering organisations and their employees, to check-in on their mental health, using the OML Mental Health Check-in tool.
With only 3 week lead in time, we had 1400 people across the resources industry take 5 minutes during pre-start and onsite team meetings to complete the OML Mental Health Check-in.
We're excited to see what 2022 brings!
Thank to our partners for check in week 2021.
THE ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH IN MINING AUSTRALIA
In 2021, Lachie co-founded the association for mental health in mining australia, alongside Darielle Bown. This is also the first of it's kind in the Australian mining sector.
The associations mission is to connect the mental health community in mining, in the hopes it will provide opportunities for collaboration and ultimatley change.
Our goal is to host events that makes mental health a little more fun to speak about, through networking and the sharing of ideas.
The guests of our first 2 events, which were sundowners held at Murdoch CBD, were lucky enough to hear keynotes from guests like Peta Slocombe, Founder of One Million Lives, and Nick Hudson, Founder of The Push-Up Challenge.
Our first event for 2022 will be an opportunity to share our findings from the 1400+ people who checked in on their mental health, via our Resources Industry Mental Health Check In.

Respectful behaviour tour for FIFO sexual harassment.
In 2022, Lachie will be teaming up with FIFO sexual harassment lived experience speaker and dear friend, Becky Felstead.
Initially a project envisioned by Rio Tinto HRBP, Rebecca Reynolds, in a bid to take action and respond to the findings of the recent inquiries, this project has quickly gained both traction and interest amongst other mining organisations and media.
Our mission for this project is to create a sense of safety for women who want and need to speak up, as well as empowering both men and women with the awareness and insight they need to begin making better decisions.
